Being a Single Father Isn't for Sissies

Single Father Worth a Look-See for Life Partner

Being a single father isn't for sissies, especially if he's a single father to daughters.  Fathers and sons can always relate through sports or building something, but unless a single father truly appreciates ballet dance classes and dolls, being a single dad to a little girl can be a real challenge. The very act of combing her hair ay prove a task beyond his capability, shopping for little girl clothes can be puzzling at best, downright daunting at worst.  Listening to the trials and tribulations that make up little girls' days can sound like a well written mystery novel, especially to a single father with no wife and mother to help decipher things.

Doing a really good job with a daughter may mean doing so with a lack of knowledge and practical experience.  Although growing up in a house filled with sisters can possibly help, it only takes the edge off of raising a little girl without his wife and her mother.  Sacrifice becomes his middle name especially if the ball game is at the same time as the dance recital.  A night on the town with buddies takes on a whole new meaning where spontaneity, drinking too much beer and staying out past eleven become things of the past.  Never mind putting in extra hours on the job or career.
Attentively watching a two hour dance show in which his daughter spends all of three minutes on stage is true pride and love. Just learning how to put together the costume, what and where to buy the accessories and donning the costume can test the best of moms, but for a single dad to sew pink ribbons on ballet slippers must feel like climbing the tallest mountain with asthma.
A lonely single father raising a daughter may feel isolated if there are no other children in the home because its his job to make a home, establish the family traditions and set the family mood. The face he presents to his daughter at the end of the day will remain in her memories for the rest of her life and will teach her the value of rising above the daily trials and tribulations of life.  The only thing harder than raising a daughter might be raising two daughters.  They have each other and if he has no one special in his life, he may spend an extraordinary amount of time alone, even if his daughters are in the next room.
Fortunately, the father/daughter bond is a strong one that can overcome most anything, even the loss of a mother and wife through death, divorce, abandonment or other. The single father that relates to his daughter through her life and not his is most probably a man who is not only a wonderful father, but a caring and thoughtful life partner.
Discounting a man to begin a relationship with because he has children is a potential mistake.  Eliminating the major segment of single men with children to date may have you missing out on meeting the match of your life. Giving them a chance before moving on will make sure you don't miss out on your special someone and may also prove to be fun.
